Jack Devlin

Jack is a successful businessman and advisor who formed Waypoint Resources in 2001 to provide critical management support to companies that were not realizing their potential. Jack began his career as a business consultant in 1988 and has spent the last 20 years helping companies succeed. During the recession of the early 1990’s, Jack assisted numerous companies in a variety of positions from bankruptcy consultant to interim CEO. As the economy improved, Jack broadened his focus to include profitability improvement services and capital raising consulting. During the hi-tech boom of the late 1990’s, Jack work with a number of start-up and IPO bound companies, helping them raise venture capital and prepare IPO’s.

Jack has worked as a business consultant concentrating in turnarounds, bankruptcies, mergers and acquisitions, business planning, organizational structuring and business funding. Jack has provided assistance to companies in bankruptcy situations, both post and pre petition. He is an approved Chapter 11 trustee. Jack has also provided financial expertise to investor groups during business acquisition efforts and to companies in fund raising efforts. Jack has helped numerous companies reorganize and restructure their operations and finances to significantly improve their financial health.

Jack started his career as a CPA with Deloitte in Baltimore. After several years he joined a Fortune 500 manufacturing company in the controllership function. In 1986, Jack became Corporate Controller of First Cellular Group, Inc., a start-up cellular telephone company. When the company was purchased in 1988, he left to become an independent consultant.

Along with his work with Waypoint, Jack is also the President and owner of Butler Apex, LLC, a commercial plumbing contractor in the Washington/Baltimore area. There he manages a team of 40 employees providing new construction services to major general contractors in the region.

Jack graduated cum laude from Villanova University with a BS in Accounting. Jack serves on the boards of several for-profit and not-for-profit enterprises.
